Acceptance and eligibility

By confirming on the first screen, installing or using Amount Tracker you agree to these terms and to the Privacy policy. You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What the app is

Amount Tracker is personal finance software that works on your own phone to organise your own bank, card and UPI messages and related records. It is not a bank, payment service, lender, broker or adviser, and it does not move money, make payments or access your bank account. It is not registered with, or supervised by, the Reserve Bank of India, SEBI, IRDAI or PFRDA, and it is not an Account Aggregator.

Licence to use

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on your own devices for your own non-commercial use. All rights in the app and its content remain with the developer. You may not copy it for sale, remove notices, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, share a plan with others, or use it to break the law.

Your responsibilities

Use the app only with messages, e-mails, accounts and cards that belong to you or that you are authorised to use. Keep your phone locked and your PIN private: anyone who can unlock your phone may be able to open the app and, with your fingerprint or PIN, see saved card and account details. Keep your backup recovery code safe: without it, or the key Google Block Store holds, a backup cannot be opened. You are responsible for what you share from the app (cards, account details, invites) and with whom.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to commit fraud, to read other people's messages or accounts without their permission, to attack or overload any service, or to try to get around the app's security or its plan checks.

Not financial, tax or legal advice

Totals, insights, budgets, forecasts, loan figures, investment values and tax tags are estimates calculated from your messages and what you enter. They are not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and the developer is not a registered investment adviser. Check important figures against your bank's records and consult a qualified professional before acting on them.

Accuracy and availability

Banks word their messages differently and can change formats at any time, and Android and other apps can limit what the app can read. Some transactions may be missed, duplicated or misread, and balances between bank messages are estimates. You can correct entries yourself. Your bank's records are always the source of truth. The app may change, pause or stop working at any time.

Saved cards and bank details

Saving card or bank account details is optional and at your own risk and choice. Banks never ask for your CVV or OTP by call, SMS or e-mail; never share them in response to such a request. Do not share card or account details with anyone you do not trust.

Plans and payments

Some features need a plan (Plus). A plan is a subscription sold only through Google Play, monthly, every three months or yearly. The price you see in Google Play before you buy is the price you pay, with taxes as Google shows them. A free trial, when one is offered, runs for the period shown (21 days) and then the plan renews and you are charged, unless you cancel before the trial ends. A plan renews by itself at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app under Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions, or from the link in the app's plans screen; cancelling stops the next renewal and the plan stays active until the period you paid for ends. Payments, receipts, refunds and the rules for recurring payments are handled by Google Play under its own terms and the applicable Indian rules; ask Google Play for a refund or for help with a charge. Taking your own data out stays free: you can always export everything (More > Export and backup), and Settings, My details and this page never need a plan. Which features need a plan can change in future versions; a change does not take away data you already have. Reminders about plans are a few a week at most and can be switched off in Settings and security.

Third-party services

Gmail access, Google Drive, Google Play (including purchases) and text recognition are provided by Google, and payment apps and banks are run by their own companies. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them. The developer is not responsible for them.

Privacy

How the app handles your data is explained in the Privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Ownership and open-source software

The app, its design, icons and text belong to the developer. The app also uses open-source and third-party software under their own licences, listed under Open-source notices in this section; those licences apply to that software, not to the app as a whole. Bank and card names and colours in the app are used only to identify the bank or card you hold; the badges are the app's own drawings, not the banks' logos, and no bank endorses the app.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for losses arising from use of the app, including missed bill payments, incorrect figures, lost data, or misuse of details you chose to share. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the rules made under it.

Suspending and ending use

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your data and uninstalling it, which erases what it stored on your phone. The developer may stop offering the app, or change it, and may stop a copy that is used to break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example the disclaimers and limits of liability) continue after you stop.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please first write to the developer (see Contact and grievance) to try to settle any dispute; if it is not settled, you may go to the consumer commission or the courts of competent jurisdiction in India, as the law allows.

Changes to these terms

Updated terms ship inside app updates with a new effective date and are noted in What's new. If a change needs your agreement again, the app asks you when you next open it; continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.

Contact

To ask a question, use a right described here, or complain about how your data is handled, write to Poorna Chander Terala, the grievance officer, at amounttracker@gmail.com. Please write "Amount Tracker" in the subject. See also Contact and grievance.
